RUN is operated by me, Georgie Islip.
Before retraining as a personal trainer, I worked in sales and customer marketing at Bass Brewers. Great fun, but all too “indoors” for me. I am an exercise, fitness and outdoor nut, so in 2002, after much persuasion from close friends, I set up my own business. I have not looked back.
I have various qualifications. I studied Biology at Southampton University and had a great time whilst achieving a 2(ii). At Bass I gained a Diploma in Management Studies which has really helped me develop my business. Then in 2002 I successfully completed the Personal Training Diploma from Premier International Ltd.
In sport, I have played hockey for Richmond, run several half and full marathons. I have also completed duathlons, and triathlons. I now spend some of my free time helping out with PE at the local schools.
My clients have varied from famous restaurateurs, endurance athletes, junior elite tennis player, to those just wanting to get fit and feel healthier.
My goals are to run a 5km below 20 minutes and 40 minutes for a 10km run. But my biggest challenge is planned for this year and that is to complete the 25th Marathon des Sables which is an endurance race of 256km of desert running in the Sahara.
